Spring fever

Spring is finally here! We are still getting downpours every other day so it doesn't always feel like it. But the flowers are out! And the birds are singing! And the SUN is finally HERE!! I cannot even express how happy this makes me. Oh happy happy joy joy!!!!

After being cooped up for months, I want to be outside having adventures and getting things done. Yard work! Parks! Walks! Organizing! Spring cleaning! I hardly know where to start.

We finally got a plot at the community garden - after 7 years on the waiting list. Here's the "before." Now what should we grow?

Strategic vomiting

Well Henry, if your goal was to produce the most amount of laundry possible with one puke - you nailed it. Carseat, blankets, oufit, coat, mom, book - all stinky and sticky and gross in one shot. Yuck.

Ah well, all is forgiven. Who could stay mad at this mug?

Am I...

...the kind of mom that lets you wear the same clothes several days in a row to school?

Why yes. Yes, I am. Thank you for helping me learn these things about myself.

Saucy Indian appliqué

I have been collecting Native American materials for your teacher to incorporate into the classroom.

Today's offering: a village of settlers and Indians wrapped in a favorite(!) Henry Miller print.

Demonstrating why I probably shouldn't be in charge of your cultural education.

In all seriousness, this is going to be an ongoing project as we try to give you some perspective on your amazing heritage. I think I will organize an online space to keep materials but I haven't gotten that far yet. More to come...
