Happy birthday Henry! You are 3 today.

Since your very first day, you have changed everything about our family and our lives.

And though it hasn't been an easy 1,095 days (shingles! lice! exhaustion! chaos!), I feel beyond lucky to have you in our family.

Thank you for being my son. I love you so so so so so so so so so so sooooooooo much.

Daddy is 42. I have known him for about 18 years. Which means I have been in love with him for about 18 years minus about 2 hours.

It's strange when your heart connects before your brain does. In just a moment, I knew.

In When Harry Met Sally, a bunch of couples talk about how they met and one woman (sounding quite ridiculous) says "I knew like you know about a good melon." But yes, kind of like that. 

Our 16th anniversary is coming up this summer. Maybe, we can make our own When Harry Met Sally interview video. 

Wing Dress Pattern

For a certain cousin (Anna) who is doing a report on Sacagawea...

Here is the Wing Dress pattern I used to sew Lucy's "dolly and me" dresses (fitting the Kaya American Doll and Lucy at 4 years old). Note: I definitely took some artistic licenses.

Here is a more authentic, contemporary wing dress. Each tribe's patterns and materials are different but this looks similar to ones my VERY untrained eyes have seen. I've also seen them made out of gingham and buckskin.

This morning, you put on a dress and said "This smells like Lizzie." I could not smell a thing even with my nose in the fabric, but sure enough, it's one of the dresses Deb sent. I love LoVe LOVE that you know Lizzie's smell so well.

 Mermaid sisters are for life. It's lucky you have such a great one.
